RE: ST 225/75/15-D to LT 225/75/16-E Tires & Wheels???

Joe, As you know from reading the AFNash Forum I just upsized the tires on my Nash 22H from the OEM 205's to 225's increasing the tire load rating from 7280 lbs to 10,240 lbs. For a TT running down the road at 5500 lbs loaded (minus ~ 500 lbs hitch weight) this by most would be considered a gross overkill so I think the upgrade you already did going to 225's should be adequate IMHO.
My justification for doing the upsize was to get rid of the OEM Mission tires and thought why not build in some extra safety tire margin as well as the price difference between 205's and 225's is not that much.. Remember the axles are rated for only 7000 lbs (2 x 3500) anyway which is probably why the manufacturers are using the 205's as OEM. The problem is they are using cheap tires to save a few bucks.............Again IMHO.

RE: Where to store the spare?

Presently moving the spare from the rear bumper to underneath just ahead of the axles.
Fabricating a dropdown bracket using a pair of 6' 1.5" perforated steel tubes. Gets it out of the way and out of site (temptation). The OEM bracket that Northwood bolted to the rear bumper was wobbly, in the way and 95% rust covered (after only two yrs with indoor storage). Time for an upgrade!

RE: Underbody spare tire mount

Hear is an idea I came across. Presently doing a close version of this on our TT.
Don't like the space on the rear bumper at all.

RE: Maxxis 8008 shopping

Just replaced the ST205/75R15's on our '05 Nash 22H with Maxxis ST225/75R15's.
Best price I found was the local Discount Tire store for $65 each. They waved the $10/tire shipping(they had to order them) and the $12/tire mounting/balancing fee since I bought new rims in the deal as well.
I think the Maxxis web site listed the ST225 M8008's at $128 each so Discounts price I thought was pretty good.

RE: Maxxim ST tires

In the process of replacing the OEM Mission 205 LR "C's" with Maxxis 225 LR "D's" on our Nash 22H. Better tire IMO and more load rating (ie , safety margin).

RE: Inside Tire Clearance

Think I'd want a little more than 1/2" but if the potential rub point is a flat, not sharp like a shock mount might be, you might be able to get by with an occasional "bounce" rub.
Another route is if have some extra clearance on the outside is to replace your rims with one's that have an additional offset from the one's you have. Many rims have "0" offset (the hub mounting surface is exactly in the center of the wheel edges) and a -6 mm or -12 mm offset (both std offsets) would move the tire edge 1/4 or 1/2" respectively out from axle hub.
Talk with a tire dealer and they will be able to help if there is outward room to shift the tire.

RE: Tires rubbing on new Springdale

I'm in the process of replacing the OEM ST205/75R15 "C" Mission tires on my 22H Nash with
Maxxis ST225/75R15 "D's". Will increase load capability of ea tire from 1820 to 2540 lbs. Much more margin. The 205's were probably adequate for our 5000 lb rolling weight 22H but I think they are pretty marginal for a 6000 lb plus TT even with the hitch taking 10% of the weight. The 225's are 1" taller (26.25 vs 27.3") and 7/8" wider (7,875 vs 8.75) in my case.
Be sure your 205 rims (typically 5') are ok for a 225 which typically takes a 6" rim and 15 more psi. I upgraded to 6" rims as well but probably could have gotten by with the 5" OEM rims.
BTW another route for you to go is that both Denham and Carlisle both make a 205 "D" rated tire, in fact I believe Carlisle even makes an "E" rated 205 ST tire. A "D" rated 205 won't get you to the 2540 lb rating of the 225 but will get you in the 21xx lb range an improvement from the "C" 205 of 1820 lbs. And the Denham is a good tire.............

RE: how do you repair small hole in aluminum siding?

A piece of Al tape, the kind used for body repair and available at any auto parts store, will adhere very well. The pressure sensitive adhesive on these tapes is very aggressive and will not come off. If it does apply a new piece.
I use it for sealing openings around and under the TT to keep critters out as well. Main disadvantage is that's the color is silver and not white so will be noticeable. Maybe a white colored Al tape is available. OR try a small piece white electrical vinyl tape. Not as durable, but should stick ok for small areas.

RE: auxilary fuel tanks

"Did put filter on fuel line run every thing through alx tank. "
edwardt48 - This fuel filter you added, does the fuel gravity flow through this filter or did you have to pump it through?
Going to add a gravity flow bed tank, would like to add a fuel filter between and was wondering if the fuel would gravity flow through it or if a pump would be required.......
What size/type fuel filter did you use?
Or anyone with a gravity flow system, how did you set it up?

RE: Which would you choose, slide or no slide???

A no slide vote.
We use our TT mainly for eating and sleeping times. A motel on wheels. If and when we would do more sitting around a campground then a slide would be better. Or if you would have a couple of kids. We are retired.
Plus the less weight, less potential mechanical issues, less initial cost, etc go to the plus side of our list.

RE: Rt 61 from Minneapolis

Hwy 61 runs south out of St Paul (Not Mpls) to Hastings continuing on south to LaCrosse. It is a very scenic road as it follows the Mississippi closely.
It is all very good divided road and goes through a number of small river towns.
The views are great, esp in the fall leaf color change time. We live just north of Hastings and do a Hwy 61 leaf tour every fall.
Your motorhome will not be a problem.

MI UP Loop from WI - What to see?

Going to do 6-7 days (Starting 6/17) trek thru the MI UP. Thinking about the following:
Night 1 -Iron Mtn or Menominee Area
Night 2 - East Hiawatha N.F. Area
Night 3 - Pictured Rocks Nat Lakeshore Area
Night 4 - Copper Harbor Area
Night 5 - Houghton Area
Night 6 - Ironwood Area
And having an option to spend an extra night at any one of those areas or add another spot.
Question:
1. Any suggestions on what "Not to miss" in these areas
2. Any particular nice campgrounds to stay at?
Just want to see the UP area. No kids, just us two retired folk..........
Thanks for any input.
